Job Summary
This role is part of the IT Consumer Online and Publishing department at Nintendo of America (NOA) and acts as the direct contributor and key technology driver focused on the global NOA product publishing pipeline (aka 3PT, Nintendo Developer Portal). The senior-level position directly contributes to the sustainment and enhancement of the 3PT application portfolio, ensures technical design integrity across efforts, collaborates on application architecture, and verifies software delivery estimates.
Responsibilities- Develop and modify core application and development features of the global publishing pipeline, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations, and monitoring needs.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Document all changes through appropriate change control, producing technical documentation such as API documentation and runbooks.
- Maintain the existing publishing pipeline by adding or updating features, addressing live-site issues, and improving reliability.
- Translate business requirements into technical tasks.
- Participate in architecting and designing innovative solutions.
- Work with multiple teams, creating a large impact across the organization.
- Mentor junior colleagues, providing instruction as needed (e.g., serving as a team lead).
- Use infrastructure as code (IaC) to deploy cloud (AWS) services.
- Maintain legacy systems to keep core business running.
- Provide constructive feedback on peers’ deliverables.
- Minimum of seven years of related experience with software development technologies, patterns, and practices.
- Broad understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; post-graduate coursework preferred.
- Experience with container tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle, and non-relational databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform.
- Experience and confidence working within a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using tools such as Bitbucket, Git Hub, Artifactory, Team City, and Jenkins.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Spring and React.
- Experience with multiple programming languages (Java, Type Script, Python) preferred.
- Background in secure application development or partnering with security teams during the application development process.
- Full-stack development experience a plus but not required.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
- This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA, requiring regular onsite work following the division’s schedule and guidelines. Remote status is not an option.
- Base pay range: $145,150-$261,200 USD, with potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
