Software Dev Engineer II, Aurora Storage
Amazon Aurora is a MySQL and Postgres compatible, relational database service that provides high performance and scalability in the cloud. The Aurora Storage platform team builds large-scale, distributed systems spanning data centers worldwide, owning design and development of core software components for cloud-based database services.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions to improve service performance, durability, cost, and security.
- Build high-quality, highly available, always-on products and research implementations that deliver the best experiences for customers.
- Solve challenging technical problems across multiple layers of the stack and collaborate across diverse teams to impact a global customer base.
- Develop rock-solid components, participate in design discussions and code reviews, mentor other engineers, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create metrics, implement automation, resolve root causes of defects, and drive architectural efficiency in a startup-like environment within a large company.

Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new or existing systems
- 1+ years of software development experience in a relevant role
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
