Position: CONTRACT - Sr Engineer (NTD)

Job Summary

Delivers end-to-end complex engineering projects and proactively identifies opportunities and risks at a module level. Acts as a resource and mentor for other engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Owns one or more modules, understanding the development lifecycle and managing modules at any phase.
  • Owns product quality over the entire lifecycle from conception to maintenance.
  • Provides documentation for owned modules and features in a timely manner.
  • Provides front-line support to internal and external customers and triages bug reports.
  • Performs code reviews, technical design reviews, and test plan reviews.
  • Scopes and executes delivery of modules involving multiple engineers.
  • Scopes and plans sprints for owned module(s) and provides technical input into overall roadmap planning.
  • Prioritizes and balances new feature development versus maintenance work.
  • Communicates and presents effectively to customers, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Creates test plans to determine strategy, test coverage, and required tooling to ensure high product quality.
  • Designs, implements, and executes automation frameworks, tools, and tests for complex systems.
  • Develops automation systems using and targeting various technology domains with respect to hardware and software modules.
  • Works with Dev Ops to implement continuous integration for test automation.
  • Drives finding root cause and resolution of defects.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality and performant software solutions.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality and performant hardware solutions.
  • Researches complex subjects and provides expert guidance.
  • Develops new features, conducts performance analysis, optimizes systems, and diagnoses failures.
  • Effectively debugs complex problems.
  • Makes pragmatic design decisions identifying risks, trade-offs, and alternatives.
  • Designs and implements complex systems.
  • Identifies problems with requirements and helps to resolve them.
  • Identifies and resolves dependencies impacting the team.
  • Analyzes existing processes and technologies and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborates with peer groups and other teams across Nintendo.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship and acts as a resource to other engineers.
  • Participates as a key contributor to the hiring process.
Travel

Up to 10% travel; domestic and international.

Location

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of recent experience developing software.
  • 5+ years of recent experience developing hardware.
  • 5+ years of recent experience testing software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of embedded software/hardware design, application software design, and emerging technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of application software design and emerging technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system software design and emerging technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of real-time interactive platform technologies and industry-related trends.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies.
  • Highly proficient in their domain and knowledgeable in diverse technologies.
  • Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms, multithreaded programming, and OS fundamentals.
  • Experience with graphics APIs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, or Direct

    X.
  • Fluency with C, C++, or C# (or equivalent).
  • Fluency with C++.
  • BS or MS in engineering or equivalent.
  • Valid passport may be required.
Additional Information

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Pay range: $69.78-$125.57 USD.
