Key Job Responsibilities- Drive the design, development, and operation of key functions such as mode management, telemetry, power control, hardware interfaces, and autonomous capabilities for each satellite throughout its lifetime, from launch to de‑orbit.
- Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, RUST or other), testing, and integration in an embedded Linux or real‑time operating system (RTOS) environment.
- Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, I3C, SPI, RS‑422, RS‑485, Ethernet, and other communication protocols.
- Collaborate closely with hardware teams for setup, verification, integration, and testing.
- Follow best practices in high‑reliability embedded software development to ensure high levels of satellite reliability and availability.
- Work on the Satellite Communication Systems Payload.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
About the TeamOur team tackles many critical satellite functions including payload mode management, command & telemetry, and autonomous control. We are looking for a software engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation & BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
