Requirements Must have:
- We require 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- We require 7+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language.
- We require 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- We require experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
- We require a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
- Preferred: 7+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: knowledge of PostgreSQL internals.
- We solve complex technical challenges, often at every layer of the stack.
- We design, build, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software that improves service performance, durability, cost, and security.
- We develop high-quality, highly available, always-on products.
- We research implementations that create the best possible customer experience.
- We create metrics, automate improvements, and address the root cause of software defects.
- We build impactful solutions for our large customer base.
- We participate in design discussions and code reviews, and we communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- We work cross-functionally to help shape business decisions with our technical insight.
- We contribute in a fast-moving development environment focused on the most important priorities.
We are Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Engine team within AWS Utility Computing, building hyper-scale cloud database services that deliver enterprise-class performance, availability, and durability for customers worldwide.
