Description
The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our athletics team. The Bear Creek School offers a comprehensive and competitive athletic program including tennis, track, cross country, basketball, soccer, golf, and volleyball. As a preschool – grade 12 school, feeder programs begin in elementary with systematic development in athletics throughout the grades. The varsity head coach works alongside and under the Athletic Director to organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program that advances the mission of The Bear Creek School.

We Are Seeking Individuals Who Will- Work with the Athletics Director to create a comprehensive approach to all program elements at Bear Creek in grades K - 12
- Maintain compliance with the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), Emerald Sound Conference, and The Bear Creek School
- Plan and organize all practice sessions in advance
- Provide instruction and training in the fundamentals of the sport/activity
- Supervise the team during all team activities including travel
- Effectively communicate with Athletics Department, players, parents, colleagues, and league members
- Maintain, inventory, and submit requests for any facility or equipment needs
- Represent the school and its community in a professional manner
- Promote the athletics program within the school and community
- Actively teach and promote sportsmanship, fair play, and character development and ensure that all team members and spectators uphold a high standard of conduct at all times

Requirements- High school diploma
- Some coaching experience preferred but not required
- Compliance with WIAA and Bear Creek requirements prior to the beginning of the sports season
- Holds CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector supplement) or obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date
- Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer (sponsorship not available)
- Positively support the school’s policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization
- Truthful, positive, and purposeful when communicating with others
- Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas
- Flexible and adaptable in dealing with new, different, or changing requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and security of information
- Hold self and others accountable to accomplish results
- Effective in handling multiple concurrent tasks
- Adhere to biblical standards in all areas of conduct
- Requires standing for long periods of time
- Requires lifting and moving of items upwards of 50 pounds
- Able to make visual and auditory evaluation of athletes’ performances
- Work in a climate-controlled office with travel outdoors between buildings
$2,000 - $7,000 stipend, depending on sport and role.
