Intermediate Interior Designer

Christine Costa Interiors is a boutique residential and commercial interior design studio based in Redondo Beach, CA, with projects throughout Los Angeles and beyond. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with potential to level up to Senior Designer, pending experience, with strong experience working in a full-service capacity on down-to-the-studs renovations, new construction and major home renovations. The position will work fluidly across architectural interiors and FF&E, with an emphasis design development and detailing.

We are looking for someone with a strong AutoCAD and construction documentation background who is eager to take on new challenges and grow with our expanding studio. Candidate will play a central role on our design team in bringing projects to life from concept to installation.

We are a small close knit team. This is a dynamic position that will touch all phases of design – including design concepting and development, materials specification, construction documentation, and project management across workrooms, job sites, showrooms and trade relationships. We are looking for someone who is both conceptual but also thrives in the details, while interacting with team members, clients, vendors and trades with grace, patience and kindness.

The ideal candidate would bring a highly detailed eye, an understanding of managing design development and construction schedules as well as experience in procurement/purchasing. 7-10 years experience working in an interior design, design-build or showroom environment, with an understanding of construction and project implementation phases. Candidate should be comfortable interfacing with clients and ensuring the best customer experience. Experience working in Studio Designer a plus.

• Full time, hourly 30-40 hours per week
  , 7-10 years of experience, salary commensurate with experience.
• Location: Redondo Beach, CA. Must be able to work from our Redondo Beach offices.

• Play a core role in residential renovations, design and decoration projects from concept to installation
• Manage and implement creation of technical drawings in AutoCAD, including as-builts, space plans, electrical and finish plans, millwork and cabinetry detailing, construction set detailing and specification schedules.
• Create and present client-facing design presentation books, material palettes and pricing proposals.
• Research, source, and specify hard finishes, fixtures, hardware and accessories.
• Conduct site visits, implement construction documentation changes and serve as a advocate for the studio’s design intent and client support during onsite during project meetings.
• Review architectural plans, cabinet shop drawings, window and door orders, etc. to ensure they align with design intent.
• Assist with mentoring junior designers and design assistants.
• Contribute fresh ideas and creativity to elevate our firm’s work.

• 7-10 years of experience in an interior design or architecture studio
• Proficient in Studio Designer (or similar), Canva, and like tools.
• Extremely strong in AutoCAD and Construction Documentation
• Natural problem solver and independent thinker who is highly detailed, resourceful and logistics oriented
• Team player who is a natural people person and can maintain grace and calm under pressure
• Comfortable working in high-end, luxury environments
