Program Coordinator - Part-Time; Afterschool Site Lead

Under direction of a Recreation Coordinator, this position is responsible for overseeing operations of an after school program site that supports student growth, enrichment, and safety. This position oversees daily operations, guides staff, builds positive relationships with families and school administration, and creates engaging activities that inspire learning after the bell. Ideal for energetic leaders who enjoy working with youth and making an impact in their community.

• Proposes, recommends, implements programs and activities, including but not limited to arts, exercise programs, and special events
• participates in and coordinates fundraising activities
• promotes community awareness of programs
• selects, schedules, and directs part-time staff and volunteers
• recommends and coordinates the purchase of program supplies and equipment
• monitors and supervises program participants
• makes behavioral referrals when necessary
• confers and collaborates with other social services providers as appropriate
• collects and analyzes data and prepares reports for management staff
• operates a motor vehicle in the performance of job duties
• performs related duties as required

• Materials, equipment, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to youth and senioractivities, recreational programs, group activities, games and sports
• applicable health and safety regulations

Effective leadership skills, creativity, good decision making and exercising appropriate judgment, the ability to teach, and the ability to lead by example are preferred qualities. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Must possess a valid California Driver's License. Completion of high school is required, and some college course work a related field is highly desired.
