As an Orbital Tube Welder at Impulse, you will be responsible for the precision assembly, welding, inspection and documentation of high-reliability orbital welds used in space flight hardware. This role is hands-on, detail-oriented and critical to delivering flight-worthy hardware on aggressive timelines.

• Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures for flight and development hardware
• Setup, maintain and operate the orbital welding system to produce high quality orbital welds
• Document build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems
• Maintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware
• Work closely with engineers, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processes
• Support rework, repair, and root-cause investigations as needed

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 1+ year of orbital welding, machining or manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specifications
• Proficient with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches)

• Certification from a formal orbital weld training program
• 5+ years of orbital welding experience using Orbitalum or similar OTW equipment
• TIG welding experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with welding stainless steel, Inconel and titanium tubing
• Familiarity developing weld schedules and able to weld parameters based on welding defects

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
