Impulse Space is building the next generation of in space transportation systems to support missions beyond Low Earth Orbit. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will take ownership of advanced digital hardware supporting software defined radio systems used in demanding space applications.
This Senior Electrical Engineer role offers genuine ownership across the complete development lifecycle. You will help shape future spacecraft radio platforms while working on advanced hardware involving large FPGA and SoC devices, DDR memory architectures, SERDES interfaces, ADC and DAC connectivity, and complex multilayer circuit board designs. You will have significant technical influence, close collaboration with RF, thermal, mechanical and manufacturing teams, and the opportunity to contribute to ambitious future technology roadmaps.
Responsibilities- Own the architecture, design and bring up of high speed digital hardware supporting spacecraft communications systems
- Drive key technical decisions covering component selection, interface definition, memory architecture and circuit board implementation
- Develop schematics and circuit board layouts for complex mixed signal radio platforms
- Lead hardware validation, troubleshooting and integration activities through prototype and qualification phases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable and high performance spacecraft electronics
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong experience designing complex digital electronics and high speed hardware systems
- Knowledge of FPGA based systems, external memory devices and high speed digital interfaces
- Hands on experience with hardware debugging, validation and board level troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams and influence technical direction
