This opportunity offers the chance to own major spacecraft avionics programmes from requirements through flight hardware delivery. You will help define new spacecraft architecture, influence next generation avionics development, support future lunar capability and work directly with customers as the technical face of the programme. Backed by significant funding, equity participation and a fast moving engineering culture, you will have the opportunity to lead complex programmes without stepping away from hands on engineering.
As a Lead Avionics Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing avionics systems for Impulse Space's next generation vehicles. Working across the full spacecraft electronics ecosystem, you will partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, flight ready hardware while driving programme execution and technical excellence.
The Lead Avionics Engineer your responsibilities include:- Drive programme execution, technical delivery and schedule performance across multiple spacecraft programmes
- Own system architecture, requirements management, technical trade studies and risk mitigation activities
- Lead the development of avionics hardware from concept through design, production, integration and flight
- Guide multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for design, manufacturing, testing and qualification activities
- Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to shape requirements and technical direction
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience designing electronics for spacecraft, launch vehicles or other complex vehicle platforms
- Strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design, power systems and high speed interfaces
- Proven ability to lead technical teams or complex engineering projects within demanding environments
- Hands on experience troubleshooting and developing board level electronics throughout the product lifecycle
