Principal Aeronautical Engineer – Air Vehicle Configuration Design & Integration

• Support the Configuration Design and Integration team through the development and design of multiple advanced air vehicle concepts
• Develop parametric CAD models, primarily in Siemens NX, for conceptual vehicle sizing studies
• Support vehicle design configuration trade studies with multiple disciplines
• Solve complex vehicle design challenges across all vehicle design stages
• Design and integrate advanced air vehicle configurations from concept through manufacturing and flight test

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; or a Master's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience (Aeronautical Engineer level)
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 1 year of related engineering experience (Principal Aeronautical Engineer level)
• Demonstrated proficiency with an industry-standard design tool such as Siemens NX, CATIA V5, or ProE CAD
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office
• Good technical writing skills and ability to communicate and present technical material to various stakeholders
• Current active in-scope U.S. Government Secret security clearance or higher
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Experience/knowledge relating to conceptual vehicle layout/design, air vehicle integration, parametric modeling for Multi-Disciplinary Optimization, and surface design/loft
• Exposure to aerodynamics, aircraft performance and sizing, propulsion, CFD, structural design, and mass properties analysis
• Understanding of the air vehicle maturation process from concept through manufacturing and flight test
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering
• Preferred:
  Experience supporting the design and modeling of advanced air vehicle concepts
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of historical aircraft designs
• Preferred:
  Ability to lead a configuration design team, provide staffing planning and estimation
• Preferred:
  Experience with CAD product lifecycle model management systems
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of design principles used on Low Observable vehicles

Demonstrates expertise in advanced air vehicle design and integration, utilizing Siemens NX for parametric modeling and configuration trade studies. Possesses strong technical writing and communication skills to effectively present complex engineering concepts to stakeholders.
