Northrop Grumman's Corporate Sector's Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Principal Network Administrator to support its IT Infrastructure & Operations organization in Redondo Beach, CA. Please note that the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Redondo Beach, CA campus, and that this is not a remote work opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs.
* Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements.
* Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches, WAN accelerators, etc.
* Propose solutions to management to help ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage are met, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
* Prepare and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
* Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
* Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment and assist with network design, to include selecting hardware and software packages.
* Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Basic Qualifications:
* Associate's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree.
* Applicants must have a current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years, or must be enrolled in the DoD Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP) in order to be considered; the required security clearance must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
* Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ie: Security+ CE) or greater, or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date; the required certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
* Must have experience with Cisco hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems related field.
* Active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI level security clearance.
* Current professional certifications (eg. Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).
* Previous experience troubleshooting network procedures and best practices; experience with network challenges associated with systems integration, including COTS integration, capacity analysis, and system architecture design.
* Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
* Demonstrated experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. Solar Winds, Wire Shark, Riverbed App Transaction, etc.).
* DISA STIGs knowledge and/or implementation experience.
* Network encryption devices experience.
* Cisco Call Manager experience.
* Cisco Tele Presence equipment experience.
