Role DescrptionDay-to-day responsibilities include building custom structures and fixtures, interpreting shop drawings, cutting and assembling materials, and ensuring precise measurements and high-quality finishes. Team members use hand tools and power tools to construct frames, walls, displays, and detailed finish elements for experiential and trade show environments. Lead carpenters additionally coordinate workflow, guide other shop carpenters, maintain safety and quality standards, and collaborate with project managers to meet timelines and specifications.
Both roles contribute to a clean, organized, and safe shop environment, with occasional support for packing and staging projects for transport.
- Strong carpentry skills, including framing and finish carpentry for custom builds and exhibit structures.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a focus on safe, accurate, and efficient operation.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and translate them into precise fabrication.
- Experience maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, detail, and quality control in a shop environment.
- Solid understanding of shop safety practices and willingness to follow established procedures and guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in exhibit, trade show, or experiential fabrication is beneficial; lead carpenters should have proven leadership or supervisory experience.
