Role OverviewWe are seeking an energetic and passionate software engineer to join a diverse and skilled team. This role involves working on innovative solutions to complex issues in support of national security missions, focusing on Next Generation Ground Systems and software deliveries to operational sites. This position is 100% on-site in a secure facility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform as a C++ software developer in a fast-paced agile team environment using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) VMs, servers, and workstations.
- Design, code, and unit test new software capabilities based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and provide software fixes for Discrepancy Reports.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5-8 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3-6 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1-4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with an Top Secret clearance or higher.
Technical
Skills:
Advanced Object-Oriented programming skills and proficiency with C++ programming;
Knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system;
Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Top Secret / SCI Clearance
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops Test Automation.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl.
- Strong aptitude in mathematics and algorithms.
- Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
- Experience developing in a Linux environment using git.
