Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Residential Lease Property Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations for a portfolio of residential rental properties. This role supports Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll, with a strong focus on lease-specific accounting and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on bookkeeping experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Quick Books.
Key Responsibilities
Property & Lease Accounting
+ Maintain accurate financial records for multiple residential properties
+ Track rent payments, security deposits, and property-related income and expenses
+ Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and security deposit accounts
+ Prepare monthly financial reports, including P& L and cash flow statements
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tax documentation
Accounts Payable (AP)
+ Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
+ Verify invoice accuracy, allocate expenses, and reconcile vendor statements
+ Manage credit memos, stop-payment requests, and petty cash
Accounts Receivable (AR)
+ Record tenant payments (cash, check, credit card)
+ Post revenue, verify deposits, and resolve account discrepancies
+ Monitor outstanding balances and prepare monthly AR reports
Payroll Support
+ Collect and review approved timesheets
+ Verify hours worked and ensure accurate payroll data entry
+ Maintain confidentiality of payroll and financial information
Tools & Software
+ Quick Books (Required)
+ ADP (Preferred)
+ Property management software such as Buildium, App Folio, or Tenant Cloud (a plus)
+ Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in property management or a related field.
- Proficiency in Quick Books is required, with additional knowledge of property management software being a plus.
- Strong skills in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Experience coding invoices and allocating expenses accurately.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, including profit and loss statements and cash flow analysis.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for data management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
