Role Description The Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Redwood City, CA. This position oversees day-to-day construction site operations, including coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring work is completed according to plans and specifications. The superintendent monitors job progress, enforces safety standards, and maintains a clean, organized work environment. The role includes tracking materials and equipment, assisting with budgeting and cost control, and communicating regularly with project managers, clients, and inspectors.
The superintendent is also responsible for resolving on-site issues promptly and supporting high-quality workmanship that aligns with CEO Construction’s client-focused values.
Qualifications
- Strong construction site management capabilities, including coordination of trades, oversight of daily operations, and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations, with the ability to enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safe work habits.
- Effective organization skills to manage schedules, documentation, materials, and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with budgeting and project management, including cost tracking, schedule management, and collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Relevant construction experience as a superintendent or in a similar supervisory role, preferably in residential or commercial remodeling and new builds.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, permits, and specifications, and to work effectively with inspectors and local authorities.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proficiency with basic construction management software and digital tools; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is beneficial.
