Construction Superintendent

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the full vertical construction process of 7+ projects to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet all quality, safety, and local regulations. The superintendent must input all information into the system in real time to allow for an accurate and updated project status.

• Oversees the vertical construction process for 5‑9 projects, from permitting to home delivery (and first‑year warranty if required).
• Responsible for all aspects of construction schedules and keeps them updated and accurate.
• Ensures trade partners, material deliveries, and inspections meet all requirements and schedules to keep the process on track.
• Ensures contractors and partners meet TJH construction standards and jurisdictional requirements.
• Acts as the company’s primary representative on the job site with employees, contractors, trade partners, buyers, and government inspectors and investigators.
• Manages contractors and team members: initiates and submits changes, approves completed tasks, withholds payments for unsatisfactory work, inspects work, and approves payment.
• Monitors cycle‑time goals per job to ensure on‑time and on‑budget performance.
• May oversee Assistant Construction Managers and provides training and feedback to foster their growth and advancement.
• Maintains a safe work site by implementing housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, and observing OSHA and state‑level agency regulations.
• Facilitates weekly safety meetings with staff and trade partners.
• Ensures Quality Checkpoints are completed and provides daily status updates on the construction progress of each unit.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in construction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven ability to deliver increasingly complex work.

• Advanced understanding of all stages of the homebuilding process, including permitting, horizontal and vertical construction, quality standards, and construction requirements.
• Expert knowledge of construction processes, standards, requirements, and techniques to observe contractors and evaluate whether they meet all standards, requirements, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans and explain and hold contractors accountable to meet all requirements and quality standards.
