Engineering Manager

Working hands-on (coding up to 30%), the ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, customer-facing, web-based applications and managing and inspiring their team to achieve their mission-critical performance goals. Your role will involve architecting, strategizing, project management, and staff mentoring. Your collaborative attitude, ability to guide highly trained engineers and interpersonal skills will help you thrive as an Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, coach, and support a brilliant team of engineers
• Create a technical strategy
• Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics
• Communicate engineer team goals with engineering staff members
• Coordinate internal teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met

Qualifications:

• Formal or informal leadership experience of top engineers
• 10+ years of experience as a high-performance engineer
• Demonstrated success in growing and coaching a small engineering team in a fast-paced environment
• Care about your engineering craft and be able to go hands-on and give technical feedback
• Experience with backend APIs, services, and platform development
• Rich development experience with Java (or C#) and SQL (MySQL)
• Nice to have React, Terraform, Terragrunt or AWS
