The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Head of Robotics to build and lead Autzu's robotics organization. This is a true builder role. You'll define our robotics strategy, build the team, launch pilot programs, develop autonomous hub technologies, and help shape how autonomous fleets operate in the real world. This isn't simply about robotic arms or warehouse automation. It's about creating the physical automation layer that enables autonomous mobility.
What You'll Build:
You'll lead the development of robotics initiatives across areas such as:
- Autonomous depot automation
- Vehicle charging automation
- Robotic inspection systems
- Autonomous maintenance workflows
- Material handling
- Fleet servicing robotics
- Hardware automation
- Sensor integration
- Robotics software and controls
- AI-enabled robotic workflows
- Future autonomous hub technologies
What You'll Do:
- Build Autzu's robotics roadmap alongside executive leadership
- Hire and lead a multidisciplinary robotics organization
- Develop robotics pilot programs from concept through deployment
- Design scalable robotics solutions for autonomous fleet operations
- Evaluate robotics vendors, suppliers, and strategic partners
- Work closely with AI, software, hardware, and operations teams
- Help define the future architecture of autonomous mobility hubs
- Build relationships with robotics manufacturers, OEMs, and automation partners
- Lead robotics testing, validation, and commercialization efforts
- Scale successful pilots into production deployments

We're looking for leaders who have built robotics products-not just researched them. Examples include experience with:

Required Experience:
- 10+ years building robotics, automation, or autonomous systems
- Experience leading robotics engineering teams
- Successfully built robotics products from concept through deployment
- Experience hiring and scaling robotics organizations
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering
- Experience managing robotics suppliers, OEMs, or manufacturing partners
- Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments

- Autonomous vehicle experience
- Waymo, Zoox, Aurora, Nuro, Kodiak, Agility, Boston Dynamics, Figure, Apptronik, Dexterity, Intrinsic, Amazon Robotics, Grey Orange, Symbotic, or similar experience
