Job OverviewOverview: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the site's Manufacturing Engineering organization to ensure safe, capable, and efficient manufacturing processes that support operational excellence and long-term business growth.
This role provides technical leadership for process development, equipment reliability, manufacturing standardization, capital projects, capacity expansion, and continuous process improvement. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and Continuous Improvement to improve process capability, eliminate manufacturing constraints, accelerate new product introduction, and deliver sustainable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
The successful candidate is a visible technical leader who develops engineering talent, drives disciplined project execution, and ensures manufacturing processes remain robust, standardized, and scalable to support current and future business demands.
Job RequirementsResponsibilities:
- Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in supporting daily production while driving long term process capability and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Capacity, and Productivity.
- Own manufacturing process capability, standardization, validation, documentation, and continuous improvement across all production areas.
- Lead equipment and process improvement projects, including automation, tooling, capital investments, and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Drive root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Continuous Improvement to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve value stream performance.
- Support New Product Introduction, process transfers, equipment qualifications, and manufacturing readiness for new business.
- Develop engineering roadmaps, prioritize technical resources, and ensure successful execution of strategic projects.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation, work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, process validations, and engineering standards remain current and effective.
- Develop, coach, and mentor engineers and technicians while fostering technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Monitor engineering KPIs and project performance to ensure timely execution, resource optimization, and measurable business results.
- Lead capital planning, equipment procurement, and engineering budget activities to support future operational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required;
Master's degree preferred
. - Must be eligible to work under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
- Minimum of 5 years leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process development, process validation, automation, equipment design, and industrialization.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Proven experience leading capital projects, equipment implementation, and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and resource planning skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt required;
Black Belt preferred
. - Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Validation, SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
