Position: CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

Core Responsibilities:

Assisting patients with getting in and out of bed

Assisting patients with personal and oral hygiene

Performing basic movement exercises

Assisting in repositioning immobile patients

Serving meals and assisting patients with eating

Monitoring food, water, and medication intake

Taking and reporting vital statistics

Monitoring and reporting any behavior, health, or vital statistic changes

Assisting patients in mobility

Offering compassion to patients and loved ones

Traveling to multiple locations (for positions that require travel)

Ability to care for multiple patients at once

Key Requirements and

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Training:
Completion of a state‑approved CNA training program, which usually includes 75–150+ hours of classroom and clinical instruction.

Certification:
Passing the state‑approved competency evaluation (written/oral and skills exam).

Background Check:
Criminal background check and fingerprinting (e.g., Live Scan in California).

Health Requirements:
Physical exam, tuberculosis (TB) testing, and immunizations (e.g., Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella).

Certifications:

CPR/BLS certification (often American Heart Association). Western Governors University +8

Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift, move, and reposition patients, and stand for long periods.

Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and medical staff.

Attention to Detail:
Ability to accurately record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature) and patient behavior.

Compassion: A patient, caring, and empathetic attitude.
