- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience within data center operations.
- 15 years of experience in technical management, including operational support.
- Experience managing a team of 100 or more technical resources.
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
- 10 years of experience managing managers.
- Experience managing a large organization of distributed teams larger than 500 individuals.
- Understanding of critical infrastructure architecture, including industrial cooling systems, high-voltage electrical distribution, generators, and building management/controls systems.
As the Senior Director, Data Centers Operations in the US West region, you will lead a large, geographically distributed team of talented electrical, cooling, and controls technicians, plant engineers, operations managers, and program managers who are collectively responsible for the operational health and efficiency of Google’s Data Centers, the largest cloud computer in the world.
In this role, you will develop, nurture, and guide multiple operations teams across a large geographic region. You will be a leader of leaders, responsible for the team’s performance, well‑being, and career development; execution against KPIs; use and maturation of existing tools and systems; and collaboratively defining future processes, systems, and infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $298,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities- Lead the strategy and ongoing operation of Google’s growing portfolio of data centers within the region.
- Lead the large-scale electrical and cooling infrastructure operations of the data center campuses within the region.
- Manage budget planning, resource planning, organizational development, maintenance, availability, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Hire, coach, and develop a team of technical staff to meet goals.
- Drive new greenfield site turn‑up within the region including hiring, coaching, and team building.
