Ryan Builders is a Bay Area-based builder that has a deep understanding of the local construction market and the unique challenges that come with building in the area. We work closely with our clients to create custom plans that meet their needs, considering factors such as zoning regulations, building codes, and environmental concerns.
We are dedicated to quality, and we take a hands‑on approach to every project, overseeing every aspect of the construction process from start to finish. This includes coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, handling permits and inspections, and ensuring that the project stays on track and on budget.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-caliber, detail-oriented Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction and engineering projects. This role is the central hub of our project operations, requiring a leader who can balance the technical demands of engineering with the logistical realities of the jobsite. You will act as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal design teams to ensure every project is delivered safely on time, and within budget.
CoreResponsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Leadership:
Manage projects from pre-construction through final closeout, overseeing scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. - Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the "face of the project" for clients and stakeholders, maintaining transparent communication and high satisfaction levels. - Strategic Scheduling:
Develop and manage critical‑path schedules using Smart Sheets or MS Project, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays. - Financial Oversight:
Approve project budgets, track real‑time costs, and rigorously manage change orders to protect project margins. - Technical Coordination:
Partner with architects and engineers to ensure site execution aligns perfectly with contract documents, local codes, and safety standards. - Field Presence:
Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality control, safety compliance, and physical progress. - Reporting & Analytics:
Present comprehensive status reports—including financial forecasts and risk assessments—to senior leadership. - Team Mentorship:
Lead and develop junior project coordinators and field supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field. - Experience:
5–7 years of proven project management experience within the construction or engineering sectors. - Financial Scope:
Demonstrated track record of managing project budgets of $1M or greater. - Technical
Skills:- High proficiency in scheduling software (Smart Sheets, MS Project).
- Expertise in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specs, and contracts.
- Strong grasp of cost control and contract administration.
- Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and the communication skills necessary to navigate high‑pressure environments. - Safety & Compliance: OSHA 30 certification.
- Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional). - Software:
Experience with BIM (Revit, Navisworks) or construction management platforms (Procore, Autodesk Build). - Versatility:
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or specialized knowledge in industrial/infrastructure sectors.
- Base Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 (plus performance bonus).
