Orthopaedic Sports APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Clinic & OR Position

Redwood City, CA – Stanford Health Care

Overview

We are seeking an experienced APP Orthopedic Sports Specialist to provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for orthopedic sports injuries for patients of all ages. The position involves collaborating with professional sports teams, performing clinic appointments, and assisting in operating‑room procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for orthopedic sports injuries for patients of all ages.
  • Work closely with professional sports teams in the area to provide high‑quality care and promote injury prevention.
  • Conduct clinic appointments to assess and treat patients, including administering injections, splints, and braces.
  • Participate in OR procedures as needed, providing assistance to surgeons and performing sutures and other minor procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans.
Qualifications
  • NP or PA degree and a minimum of 2 years post‑master’s experience as an APP Orthopedic practitioner.
  • Previous experience as an Athletic Trainer is a plus but not required.
  • In‑depth knowledge and understanding of orthopedic sports injuries and treatments.
  • Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited university or completion of an accredited PA program.
  • Valid Physician Assistant State licensure (or NP licensure) and BLS and DEA certification required.
