ML Platform Lead: APIs, UI & CLI Scale

Moloco is a machine learning company operating at massive scale (we ingest 10 petabytes of training data per day) and our models are blazingly fast (returning predictions in 10 milliseconds or less); and a profitable unicorn (we're valued at $2B & been profitable for the last 13+ quarters).

You will focus on building an advanced platform for operational machine learning to support Moloco’s business growth within and across verticals. As a lead member of our platform team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the application programming (API), user interface (UI), and command-line interface (CLI) components of our operational machine learning platform. This platform will enable Moloco to operate and grow multiple existing ml-based products at scale, while also expanding into new product areas and verticals.

The Opportunity:

Application Programming Interface (API) Design and Development:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable APIs for operationalizing machine learning models.
• Collaborate with infra engineers, product engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements.

User Interface (UI) Development:

• Develop responsive and user-friendly web-based interfaces for interacting with data and machine learning processes and platform features.
• Implement data visualization and analytic tools to enhance user understanding and decision-making.

Command-Line Interface (CLI) Development:

• Design and implement a command-line interface for seamless interaction with the platform, catering to advanced users and automation scenarios.
• Ensure consistency between the CLI and other interfaces for a cohesive user experience.

Integration and Interoperability:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models and algorithms into the platform.
• Ensure interoperability between API, UI, and CLI components for a seamless end-to-end user experience.

Testing and Optimization:

• Conduct thorough testing of API, UI, and CLI components to ensure functionality, security, and performance.
• Optimize code and interfaces for efficiency and responsiveness.

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

• 8+ years software engineering experience using one or more modern languages such as Java, C#, Go, C++, etc.
• 8+ years software development experience on backend/infrastructure systems
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science required
• Masters Degree or above in Computer Science strongly preferred
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on API, UI, and CLI development
• Strong proficiency in programming languages including Golang, Python, Java, and Java script
• Experience with web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, React, Angular) for UI development and reporting frameworks (Superset, D3, Java script) for analytic development
• Familiarity with CLI development and automation scripting
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

In accordance with various state laws, the range provided is a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
