Sr. Software Engineer, Fullstack

About the role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale the core systems that power Ambient.ai’s real-time AI security platform. In this role, you’ll work on software that ingests, processes, and interprets massive volumes of video and event data in real time – transforming raw signals into actionable intelligence for some of the world’s largest enterprises.

You can expect to regularly take on technically challenging problems in a fast-moving, collaborative environment and to see your work deployed in mission-critical customer environments.

• Build and maintain full stack features using React, Type Script and Python
• Partner with product and design to translate user needs into intuitive interfaces and high quality workflows
• Create and maintain APIs and backend services. This includes working with data flows between edge devices, cloud services and client applications
• Optimize performance across the stack with a focus on responsiveness, reliability and scalability
• Contribute to architectural decisions including data storage, caching, service boundaries and partitioning
• Review code, mentor other engineers and promote strong engineering practices
• Work with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops tooling
• Participate in planning, design reviews and cross-team collaboration

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent field with a programming background
• At least 4+ years of experience building scalable and available web services
• Strong experience working with at least one of the Object-oriented Programming Languages, like Python, Django, and React.js, would be required
• Expertise in APIs (REST / GraphQL), general web backend design principles, relational databases (MySQL / Postgres), streaming pipelines, pub-sub systems, and indexing systems
• Write clean and maintainable code
• Design and implement complex systems including communication between several services (pub-sub paradigm, microservices architecture)
• Manage service reliability, including any cloud operations work (AWS, Google Cloud)
• Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar tools/technologies will be highly preferred
• Experience building SaaS product offerings will be a huge advantage
