Job Description

At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we are building the next generation of cloud services for autonomous and intelligent robotics. The OCI Robotics Cloud team is developing a secure, scalable, and cloud-native robotics platform that enables customers to seamlessly onboard, manage, monitor, and operate heterogeneous robot fleets across industries.

Our platform provides cloud services for robot registration, identity management, mission orchestration, fleet management, telemetry, digital twins, software lifecycle management, and AI-powered robotic applications.

We are pioneering an AI-driven, spec-based robot onboarding platform that transforms robot integration from a manual engineering effort into an AI-assisted software engineering workflow. Using AI-generated service contracts, edge service specifications, SDKs, and implementation guidance, our platform enables robots from multiple vendors to be integrated rapidly through standardized interfaces and reusable adapters.

Our vision is to make robot onboarding as simple as cloud onboarding—allowing customers and partners to bring new robots online quickly, consistently, and securely.

If you are excited about building distributed cloud services at the intersection of AI, cloud infrastructure, and robotics, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and operate cloud-native services for robot registration, identity management, mission orchestration, fleet management, telemetry, digital twins, and software lifecycle management.
  • Build scalable backend services using modern distributed systems and microservice architectures.
  • Design secure APIs, service contracts, SDKs, and edge interfaces that enable seamless integration with robots from multiple vendors.
  • Develop AI-assisted, spec-driven robot onboarding capabilities, using AI to generate and evolve service contracts, integration specifications, adapter implementations, and developer guidance.
  • Build reusable edge service frameworks that simplify robot integration while maintaining consistent cloud interfaces.
  • Collaborate with robotics, AI, cloud infrastructure, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready cloud robotics services.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, observability, security, and performance of distributed cloud services.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of software development experience building backend services or cloud platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
  • Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and container orchestration.
  • Experience developing scalable, reliable, and maintainable production software.
  • Strong software design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience with robotics software frameworks such as ROS 2.
  • Familiarity with robotics communication technologies such as DDS, MQTT, OPC-UA, VDA
    5050, or similar industrial protocols.
  • Experience integrating robots, autonomous systems, IoT devices, or edge systems with cloud services.
  • Understanding of robot navigation, localization, perception, teleoperation, mission execution, fleet management, or digital twins.
  • Experience with robot simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or Webots.
  • Exposure to AI-powered robotics,…
