The ideal candidate will share Fresno City College's commitment to educating its racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to curriculum responsive to the students it serves.
Responsibilities- Providing instruction in welding on the Fresno City College campus and/or at off-site community campus locations, developing curriculum and assisting in the coordination of the program for metals fabrication/welding technology; instructing courses including oxygen-acetylene and plasma cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), and manual/semi- and automatic equipment in various positions with mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel;
- Attending and passing the NC3 training and utilizing the program so students have the opportunity to attain NC3 certifications;
- Sharing in maintenance and upkeep of welding program equipment and supplies;
- Assisting with developing and teaching short-term courses, such as summer workshops for students and high school instructors;
- Participating in recruiting activities;
- Participating in professional meetings and workshops;
- Serving on and attending department, college, and district committees as needed;
- Participating in program review, student learning outcomes development and assessment to improve student learning;
- Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings and/or weekends, online or off-campus and large group instruction as needed;
- Other duties as assigned consistent with Administrative Regulation 7122.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to equity-minded practice within the classroom;
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications- Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;
- Recent experience working with racially minoritized students and understanding historical patterns of exclusion in higher education;
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to better engage racially minoritized students;
- Related work and professional experience;
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, including disabled students;
- Knowledge of NC3 Lincoln Electric LEEPS Program certification;
- Skills equivalent to a certified welder in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW in multiple positions with various metals;
- Hold at least one AWS, API 1104, and/or ASME Section IX certification;
- Hold a CWI credential;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and district learning management systems;
