Office Technology Instructor (Reedley College) Part‑Time Faculty Pool
This is a part‑time position with start dates that may vary. The role is open until filled.
Responsibilities- Maintain professional conduct and keep teaching knowledge current.
- Teach computer basics, general office procedures, and general computer office applications.
- Teach medical office administrative procedures such as coding, billing and medical filing.
- Supervise a Windows‑based computer lab as an instructor.
- Use a variety of pedagogies and integrate technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students.
- Apply effective teaching methods in accordance with approved curriculum outlines.
- Evaluate student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in keeping with course objectives.
- Provide course syllabi to students.
- Maintain classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
- Submit all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
- Fulfill all additional duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related experience.
- Associate degree and six years of directly related experience.
- Valid California Community College credential.
- Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency required).
- Evidence of responsiveness to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Professional competency evidenced by successful work experience and teaching experience.
- Ability to use current educational technology.
- Related work and professional experience.
- Experience in computer‑assisted instruction and other instructional technologies.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Ability to develop curriculum focused on student learning outcomes.
- Experience working with students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and an understanding of equity issues in higher education.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to better support racially minoritized students.
- Skill in addressing equity issues in the classroom.
- Potential for contributing to institutional vitality and growth.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Starting rates are $45.49–$61.78 for lecture and $38.67–$52.55 for lab. Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
