Responsibilities
  • Teach all classes in the Agriculture program including Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, and Workplace Effectiveness
  • Enhance curriculum and incorporate cutting‑edge technology for optimal classroom delivery
  • Leverage innovative methodologies such as online, hybrid or competency‑based education to furnish students with the requisite knowledge and skills for their educational and career objectives
  • Recruit and advise students
  • Participate in departmental co‑curricular activities such as clubs, Future Farmers of America (FFA) / California Agricultural Teacher's Association (CATA) events
  • Stay current in the discipline and participate in professional development activities
  • Serve on departmental, division, and faculty committees and attend meetings & workshops as needed
  • Participate in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning
  • Teach in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening, weekends, online or off‑campus, and large group instruction classes as needed
  • Fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher and two (2) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience
  • A valid California Community College Credential
  • The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency)
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility
  • Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion shape participation and outcomes
  • Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds including students with disabilities
  • Willingness to examine and remediate one's instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students
  • Related work and professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
