Community Youth Ministries (CYM) of Reedley, CA is looking to hire a part‑time ELP Para educator
. This part‑time position earns $18.90- $19.50/hour

You MUST have a para educator certificate or 48 college units already completed to apply for this job.

ABOUT COMMUNITY YOUTH MINISTRIES (CYM)

Started in 1992 as a collaborative effort of 15 local churches to provide positive alternate activities for area youth, we are a 501(c)(3) that partners with local organizations, schools, and churches to empower and strengthen youth through various programs including after‑school programming. We serve youth in multiple cities throughout California's San Joaquin Valley, including Reedley, Orange Cove, Dinuba, South West Fresno, and Caruthers.

Currently, we run 17 after‑school programs in the Kings Canyon Unified School District. We are passionate advocates for youth, upholding a culture of integrity, kindness, and responsibility.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PART‑TIME ELP PARA EDUCATOR

As an ELP Para educator, you facilitate the physical, social, and emotional growth of students through after‑school programming. You provide age‑appropriate enrichment activities in a wide array of subjects, build positive relationships with students and staff, and ensure a safe environment during after‑school hours. You help plan activities and prepare equipment before students arrive, supervise consistently, employ effective group‑management techniques, and use appropriate positive discipline.

As a role model, you remain professional and set a good example, igniting the light within each student and helping them reach their full potential.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PART‑TIME ELP PARA EDUCATOR
  • 48+ completed college units OR a para educator certificate
  • Passion for instilling a love of learning in young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player
  • Positive attitude, conflict resolution skills, and group‑management ability
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
PART‑TIME WORK SCHEDULE

This part‑time position runs Monday–Friday, 1:45–5:00 PM, with Wednesday extended one hour earlier at 1:00 PM.

Additional requirements:

fingerprint clearances from DOJ & FBI for all employees who work with students.
