• Teach a full range of Human Services courses, including Introduction to Social Work, Aging Studies, Elder Care, Child Abuse, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling, and related courses.
• Develop courses and programs and maintain accreditation‑based certification.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position and stay current in teaching Human Services.
• Assist with growth of the Social Work and Human Services program and engage in community outreach.
• Work with the Human Services Advisory Committee and coordinate student placements in field work sites.
• Use a variety of pedagogies, including technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Evaluate student progress and provide accurate syllabi and grading reports.
• Serve on department, college, and district committees and participate in program review and assessment.
• Deliver teaching assignments in various instructional settings, including evening, weekend, online, and off‑campus sites.
• Fulfill all duties required of instructors under Administrative Regulation 7122 and other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related fields (e.g., marriage and family therapy, rehabilitation counseling, gerontology).
• Valid California Community College Credential or equivalent education/experience (equivalency required).
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds and equity‑minded practice within the classroom.

• Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
• Recent experience working with racially minority students, understanding historical exclusion patterns.
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to better engage minority students.
• Related professional experience in human services, social work, counseling, or related fields.
• Experience with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and disability backgrounds.
• Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Master’s degree (MSW) or higher in Social Work.
• At least five years of professional field work in human services or related area.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in Human Services at the college level or comparable settings.
• Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
• Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.

178 duty days per year. Duty days prorated based on start of assignment.

Annual salary range: $71,054 – $106,970 based on education and experience. An annual doctoral stipend of $2,419 is available. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage for employee and dependents, life insurance, and membership in the California State Teacher's Retirement System (CalSTRS).
