Position: Box Department General Labor (Stonefruit) PM Shift

Job Responsibilities
  • Load fiber/cardboard into box formation machines.
  • Add glue and/or other adhesives to machine.
  • Safely form boxes and stack boxes on box trolley.
  • Recycle old and broken boxes by placing them in the bailer for shipment to the recycler.
  • May operate equipment (when properly trained) to form boxes.
  • Set‑up the box machine accurately and efficiently in accordance with the proper set‑up procedures.
  • Examine completed boxes to detect defects and verify conformance to production and adjust machinery as necessary to correct problems.
  • Match box type and style to the production schedule.
  • Report hazards and injuries immediately to your supervisor.
  • Assist in other areas as needed (Palletizing, Cleaning, Cover fiber and cardboard box making material to protect against sun, rain, wind, etc.).
  • Keep area clean and safe. Pick up debris, strapping, plastic, wood, etc. to prevent falls.
  • Ability to operate hand jack pallet lift.
  • Ability to adjust cup printer.
  • Ability to adjust conveyors for all box types.
  • Ability to adjust box printer.
  • Maintain machine clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: production data, machine operational status, safety data and quality data.
  • Ability to perform all other duties as requested by lead person or management.
  • Complete work orders for needed repairs.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with department leader to run the department with efficiency while producing high quality products.
  • Ensure that at end of shift, all unused material is returned to warehouse.
Requirements
  • Experience in food manufacturing (preferably fruit industry).
  • Prior experience operating industrial food manufacturing machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, wash and sanitize equipment.
  • Basic math skills / Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures with little or no supervision.
  • Complete routine paperwork to properly document work performed.
  • Able to operate and handle plant equipment such as hand tools and pallet jacks.
  • Able to lift 40+ lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to perform repetitive movements such as bending, lifting and twisting for long periods of time.

Pay Range

($16.90 min - $17.50 max) per hour

This position may encompass other duties than the specified duties listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the direct supervisor.
