The college nurse provides services in the Student Health Office. The position is based on a public health model, focusing on prevention, intervention, treatment and/or referral.

• Provides clinical care including preventative care, health education, assessment, treatment and/or referral for acute illnesses and injuries.
• Adheres to Health Services, college policies and procedures, applicable regulations, license and standards to ensure compliance.
• Presents current and accurate health educational and wellness resources for students.
• Maintains a secure, accessible system of confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal laws.
• Utilizes advanced technological skills to maintain an electronic medical record keeping system.
• Collaborates with other campus departments to meet the health needs of the campus community.
• Serves as a resource on health promotion, disease prevention, safety and health advocacy; participates in outreach events and classroom presentations.
• Otherwise fulfills all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
• Other duties as assigned.

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds related to equity‑minded practice.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• California Public Health Nurse certificate.
• Five years of experience or a California School Nurse Credential.

• Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
• Recent experience working with racially minoritized students.
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices.
• Experience with students from varied cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Computer skills for high‑quality instruction and support.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Experience serving a diverse community and collaborating with college programs and services.
• Ability to work independently and with a comprehensive team.
• Maintenance of confidential records.
• Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
• Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
