Overview

The Quality Engineer focuses on developing and improving quality control systems to ensure high-quality castings that meet customer expectations. The position involves maintaining procedures, supporting the Quality Operating System, leading internal audits, and preparing for IATF 16949 compliance and certification. It also includes analyzing quality data, leading investigations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with teams, supporting customer feedback, and contributing to overall organizational success through flexibility and ongoing improvement efforts.

Requirements
  • Two years of experience in quality-related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent, with three to five years’ experience in quality engineering and auditing
  • Excellent customer service skills and problem solving
  • Light physical exertion. General office working conditions, infrequent shop exposure or travel 10-30% of time
  • Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE.
Responsibilities
  • Verify that all procedures and work instructions are accurate and current
  • Maintain and make improvements where applicable to the Quality Operating System
  • Lead internal auditor training and establish internal audit plan to meet the requirements of IATF 16949
  • Assist in the preparation of the Reedsburg team for all IATF 16949 surveillance and recertification audits
  • Recommends quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
  • Analyzes quality data from plant processes or custom indicators
  • Provides feedback to customers based on quality projects (e.g. warranty, APQP, issues, etc.)
  • Leads quality investigations and problem solving
  • Prepares statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Contributes to quality engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results
  • Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities
  • Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities
  • Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines
