The Income Assistance Programs Division seeks a Consultant, Financial Operations to support financial components of program planning.

We are looking for an experienced, results-oriented professional with strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. You should be detail-oriented, analytical, objective, and diplomatic, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.

Key knowledge and skills include: understanding of government planning, decision-making and reporting processes;

experience with accounting standards and financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and reporting;

ability to analyze and compile large amounts of data quickly and accurately;

proficiency with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and financial reporting tools;

strong analytical and creative thinking to support strategic and tactical plans.

Typically, this knowledge is obtained through a university degree in accounting or finance and a professional accounting designation (CPA), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Public sector experience is an asset.

Responsibilities include leading budget development and analysis, providing guidance on financial management, supporting evidence-based decision-making, conducting audits and reviews, and directing financial analysts.
