Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership and direction for airport operations, maintenance, safety, and emergency response programs.Develop and manage annual and long-term budgets for capital projects and operations to ensure financial accountability and sustainability.Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant aviation regulations and ensure full compliance with Transport Canada and other governing bodies.Oversee the implementation of systems and procedures that promote operational readiness, efficiency, and the long-term lifecycle management of airport assets.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government partners, regulatory agencies, airlines, and local stakeholders.Lead initiatives that enhance the customer experience and strengthen the Iqaluit Airport brand through improved services and facilities.Support and develop management and operations staff through coaching, training, and succession planning.Provide strategic input to NASL’s executive management team, ensuring effective planning, decision-making, and alignment with organizational goals.Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in aviation management, business administration, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.5+ years of senior management experience in airport operations or a comparable transportation environment.Comprehensive knowledge of airport operations, emergency planning, and aviation safety regulations.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing unionized teams.Proven ability in financial management, project planning, and performance improvement.
