Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall management of the Grocery Department.
• Achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margins, expenses, and inventory and execute sales strategies that support Sherwood Co-ops vision.
• Achieve established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist the Store Manager in preparation of the annual budget.
• Ensure claims, invoices and all other paper work is done timely, accurately and meets policy and procedure.
• Implement and enforce written performance expectations and standards.
• Coach team members, providing day to day direction and guidance, including performance management, training and development.
• Ensure safety and regulatory standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Plan and engage in self-development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of three years of retail management experience.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a special skill of motivating employees to achieve strong results.
• A solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
• Analytical and organized; committed to producing quality work.
