Your Opportunity  As part of the Prairies and Territories Infrastructure Business Center, the Roads and Highways Manager reports directly to the Operations Lead (BCOL) and leads developing, managing, and expanding the operations and practice of the Roads and Highways team to serve the project delivery needs of the Infrastructure Business Operating Unit (BOU). This includes supporting the supervisors in recruiting, developing, and assigning qualified individuals to Infrastructure and other BOU projects.

The Manager will have responsibility for training and career development of their direct reports in conjunction with BOU strategic direction. The Manager will have a critical role in promoting a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and blended project teams.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staff in offices across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

Key Responsibilities  The Roads and Highways Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions   Responsible for strong client relationship management, focus and business development collaboration
Ensures Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) have the highest priority in all activities.
Executes project work in their assigned project role, at a high level of proficiency with a reputation of high quality and budget and schedule compliance. Often holds a Discipline Lead role on projects, leading the efforts of team members to complete the project in alignment with the project guiding documents such as a Project Execution Plan (PEP). Possess strong understanding of the fundamental aspects of project delivery in Stantec.

The Manager supports on executing project work and engaged on high profile projects.
Collaborate with BCOL and other Team Leads to recruit, retain, mentor, and coach project managers.
Collaborate with BCOL, Project Controls Leadership, and Team Leads to identify, develop and mentor future PMs and PIRs within the region.
Support the development and training with respect to Oracle dashboard, Integrated Project Management (IPM) and Project Update Review Service (PURS), preparing estimates to complete, PM change management and other critical activities in partnership with the Project Controls Team.
Identifies overall goals and establishes priorities for their group in conjunction with their direct reports. Inputs into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with associated leading and lagging performance indicators.
Responsible for workload capacity / backlog and workload forecasting of the team members that report to them including adherence to budgeted utilization targets.
