SOFIA House is a second and third ‑stage housing facility that provides safe housing and support for families escaping domestic conflict. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment for women and children fleeing domestic violence, empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. Guided by our values of compassion, inclusivity, integrity, and empowerment, we envision a community where every individual is free from violence and oppression, respected, and supported in their journey to healing and hope.

Through our on‑site counseling services and housing supports, we live the meaning of SOFIA:
Support of Families in Affliction.

We are seeking an Executive Director who is an empathetic, community‑minded leader committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of women and children. This position is based in Regina and requires on‑site work.

Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will:

Lead the execution of SOFIA House’s strategic plan by advancing key organizational priorities, strengthening financial sustainability, and ensuring the long‑term stability of programs, services, and housing supports. This includes stewarding resources responsibly, diversifying revenue streams, and fostering partnerships that enhance the organization’s impact and resilience.

Oversee and manage a feminist organization that provides second and third‑stage housing for women, gender‑diverse individuals, and children fleeing violence, aligned with the organization’s strategic plan.

Lead the organization’s operations, including human resource management, education, training, programming, and partnership development.

Establish and maintain strong community connections with nonprofits, businesses, corporations, and government partners.

Work collaboratively with staff, management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.

Provide education and awareness on interpersonal violence at the local, provincial, and national levels.

Supervise and mentor staff, as well as practicum and work‑placement students of varying ages and abilities.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in:

Financial oversight and budgeting

Strategic leadership and governance

Non-profit sector experience

Advocacy for women’s rights and community development

Required skills:

Bachelor’s degree in social services, administration, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in program management, staff supervision, and organizational administration.

Demonstrated leadership and team‑building skills.

Experience in crisis management and working in high‑pressure environments.

Strong budgeting and financial reporting skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience with program evaluation and quality improvement.

Strong problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.

Property or facilities management experience is considered an asset.

Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Ability to participate in required on‑call responsibilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and experience with Sage or similar accounting software.

Prior leadership experience in a not‑for‑profit organization.

Competitive Salary:  $75,000–$90,000.
