Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Sales, the Manager, Meeting Trade & Consumer Event Sales leads the Meeting, Lifestyle, Trades and Consumer Event business unit and is accountable for growing REAL’s market position and driving profitable revenue through catering and trade/consumer event sales.

This role provides strategic sales leadership by developing and executing sales plans, managing key client relationships, and building new business opportunities. Working closely with internal departments—including Food & Beverage—the Manager ensures seamless event execution, achievement of financial targets, and consistent representation of REAL’s full range of capabilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Business Building & Leadership

  • Contribute to corporate and departmental strategic planning initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and manage annual sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
  • Establish business unit goals, success measures, policies, and procedures that support sustainable growth.
  • Lead all Business Trade and Consumer Event Sales activities to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor industry trends, including event formats, equipment, regulations, and safety standards, to inform strategy and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on promotional initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
  • Plan and grow trade and consumer shows in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Assess team capacity, resource needs, and market opportunities; proactively address gaps or surpluses.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and expense management.
  • Recommend strategic or budget adjustments based on performance and market conditions.

Relationship Building & Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and out-of-province clients.
  • Develop new business through prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing opportunities for facilities, catering, and related services.
  • Create compelling proposals and bid responses aligned with client needs and organizational objectives.
  • Actively engage with industry partners, associations, and business networks to expand REAL’s presence.
  • Represent REAL at tradeshows, conferences, sales missions, and community events.
  • Conduct site tours and host clients and prospects to showcase REAL’s capabilities.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage pipelines, track client interactions, and guide relationship strategies.
  • Address and resolve client issues collaboratively and professionally to ensure long-term partnerships.

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives and Sales Coordinators to achieve individual and team performance targets.
  • Establish clear expectations, goals, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks for the sales team.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate team members, supporting ongoing development, engagement, and retention.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with REAL’s values, service standards, and business conduct expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure alignment, smooth hand-off of sales contracts, and successful execution of events and services.
  • Monitor team workload and capacity, reallocating resources as needed to support event delivery and priority initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication, sales reporting, forecasting, and expense management.

Permanent Full Time Position.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm*


* Regular office hours may vary based on operational requirements. The events and entertainment business requires managers to be available during signature, and large scale events. Whenever possible, managers are encouraged to adjust their schedule to ensure a work-life balance is maintained. There is no time in lieu or bank time provision.
