The Opportunity
The Outside Salesperson – Parts Sales and New Truck Sales is a sales leader in heavy duty truck parts and new truck sales and will be responsible for selling commercial truck parts and accessories to new and existing customers. In this role you will also be responsible for selling the World’s Best Kenworth Class 8 and medium duty trucks. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing maximum profitability and sales volumes of assigned accounts within a designated territory.

In this outside sales position, you will call on customers, introduce products and promotions and provide superior customer service to all accounts in your territory.

Travel outside of the local area will be required from time to time, typically generated by meetings at Inland branches, training programs or seminars, along with trips to vendor and OEM locations. This may include travel in both Canada and the USA, so it is essential you hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence and passport at all times and be able to travel as required.

This position requires track record of achieving sales results and knowledge of heavy truck and parts, commercial truck service operations and/or experience in a dealership environment. Knowledge of heavy duty truck parts and trucks strongly preferred.

This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Swift Current, SK.

Your Responsibilities

Work to achieve sales targets and demonstrate a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction

Develop sales opportunities by identifying, researching and contacting prospective customers, initiates new (cold) sales calls in person at customer locations and visits assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions

Provide value added services with consistent customer visits

Develop and achieves maximum sales volumes consistent with sales projections for assigned accounts

Monitor operations of assigned accounts, offers advice and assistance when required in areas such as inventory control, available services, new products and/or product enhancements

Conduct sales calls with assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions

Gain an understanding of customer priorities and needs and demonstrate how our best-in-class truck makes and models and parts can meet the customer’s requirements

Completes customer call report with weekly summary of results and reports on sales action plans on a regular basis

Meets planning and productivity goals

Understands and works within required sales processes, writes complete sales orders and processes required paperwork in accordance with company policies

What We Look For

Excellent sales skills, with demonstrated sales experience selling in a business-to-business environment, at least 3 years’ sales experience preferred

Qualification as a Parts Journeyperson preferred or knowledge of truck parts and accessories, commercial truck repair operations and/or experience in a truck dealership environment

Proven ability to develop and work a sales action plan and drive to achieve top sales results

Ability to negotiate is essential

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong organizational skills

Must have valid Driver’s License and valid passport and able to travel within Canada and US as needed to attend sales meetings

Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all times

Must be able to climb into and out of commercial transport vehicles
