The Outside Salesperson – Parts Sales and New Truck Sales is a sales leader in heavy duty truck parts and new truck sales. The role focuses on selling commercial truck parts and accessories to new and existing customers, including the World’s Best Kenworth Class 8 and medium duty trucks. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and enhancing profitability and sales volumes across assigned accounts within a designated territory.
The position involves frequent travel to Inland branches, training, seminars, vendor and OEM sites, and may include cross-border trips to Canada and the USA. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence, passport, and be able to travel as required.
The role requires a track record of achieving sales results, profound knowledge of heavy truck parts and services, and experience in dealership or commercial truck service environments. Knowledge of heavy duty truck parts and trucks is strongly preferred.
This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Swift Current, SK.
Your Responsibilities
Work to achieve sales targets and demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction.
Develop sales opportunities by identifying, researching, and contacting prospective customers; initiate new (cold) sales calls in person at customer locations and visit assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions.
Provide value-added services with consistent customer visits.
Achieve maximum sales volumes in line with projections for assigned accounts.
Monitor operations of assigned accounts, offering advice and assistance in inventory control, services, and new product enhancements.
Conduct sales calls with assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions.
Understand customer priorities and needs, demonstrating how our trucks and parts can meet requirements.
Complete customer call reports with weekly summary of results and sales action plans regularly.
Meet planning and productivity goals.
Follow required sales processes, write complete sales orders, and process required paperwork in accordance with company policies.
What We Look For
Excellent sales skills with at least 3 years of B2B experience.
Qualification as a Parts Journeyperson preferred, or knowledge of truck parts, accessories, commercial truck repair operations, or dealership experience.
Proven ability to develop and execute a sales action plan and achieve top sales results.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational self discipline.
Valid driver’s license and passport; able to travel within Canada and US.
Professional approach and strong business ethics.
Physical capability to climb into and out of commercial transport vehicles.
