Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Equipment Operator role based in Regina, SK. The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and forklifts safely and efficiently on construction sites. Daily tasks include performing daily equipment inspections, monitoring equipment performance, and reporting any issues or hazards. The role involves executing excavation and material handling activities according to project plans, grades, and safety standards.
The Equipment Operator will work closely with site supervisors and crew members to coordinate activities, follow site procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements is essential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in earthworks or civil construction.
- Proficient in Equipment Operation and Heavy Equipment handling in industrial or construction environments.
- Experience with Excavation, including grading, trenching, and working around underground utilities.
- Knowledge of Equipment Maintenance, including daily inspections, basic troubleshooting, and reporting mechanical issues.
- Skilled in Forklift Operation, with the ability to safely move, load, and unload materials.
- Valid equipment operator certifications and/or tickets relevant to heavy equipment and forklifts (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong commitment to safety practices, hazard awareness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse site teams.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, mining, civil construction, or related sectors is an asset.
- Valid 3A or 1A Saskatchewan driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to local job sites as required.
