ABOUT THIS CAREER PROSPECT
Black & McDonald is currently seeking an experienced Service Refrigeration Technician to join our Service Division in Regina, SK. If you are a hands‑on, customer‑service oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you.
The Refrigeration Technician position is located in Regina, SK and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain customers' refrigeration systems.
- Work on RTUs and HVAC systems.
- Inspect system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
- Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
- Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
- Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
- Research and resolve complex system problems.
- Complete assigned paperwork and forms.
- Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and verify that safety regulations are followed.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration technician.
- HVAC certification.
- Brazing and soldering skills.
- Knowledge of local building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.
- Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications.
