POSITION SUMMARY

The Foreman – Powerline Technician is responsible for leading and participating in the safe and effective execution of powerline construction and maintenance projects. Working under the direction of the Supervisor or Project Manager, the Foreman provides day‑to‑day leadership to field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Field Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Lead and participate in the successful completion of distribution and utility construction projects.
  • Plan daily work activities and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements.
  • Conduct tailboard meetings, assign tasks, and ensure all crew members are fit for duty and understand their responsibilities.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership as a working Foreman while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, client requirements, applicable regulations, and safe work practices.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, staking sheets, work packages, and project specifications.
  • Identify hazards and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risk.
  • Monitor work quality and productivity to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate work activities with subcontractors and other stakeholders as required.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and ensure assigned equipment is maintained and operated safely.
  • Participate in crew leader meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work methods, productivity, and safety performance.
Crew Development & Documentation
  • Mentor, coach, and train apprentices and crew members.
  • Complete and maintain all required project documentation on a daily basis, including timecards, daily reports, tailboard forms, production reporting, change order documentation, and schedule updates, ensuring accurate and timely communication of site activities to supervision and project management.
  • Communicate project progress, concerns, and resource requirements to Supervisors and Project Management.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with crew performance reviews and development planning.
  • Support equipment maintenance and repair planning.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across crews, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience
  • Journeyman Powerline Technician Certificate required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Journeyman Powerline Technician.
  • Previous experience in a Lead Hand, Crew Leader, or Foreman role preferred.
  • Experience working on utility distribution and/or transmission projects.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driver's abstract.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, weekends, and emergency response work as required.
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the role in varying weather and site conditions.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract.
  • Successfully complete pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Work on transmission line projects throughout Saskatchewan.
  • Work a project‑based rotation schedule, initially anticipated to be 21 days on / 7 days off.
  • Eligible for $200/day LOA where applicable while working away from home.

Pay: $62.00-$66.00 per hour
