Journeyperson Locksmith

Elevate your trade skills as a Journeyperson Locksmith with the City of Regina. This permanent position involves locksmith duties, carpentry, and maintaining facility locking systems.

As a key member of the Facilities Maintenance team, you will be tasked with installing and repairing various locking mechanisms while performing carpentry duties. Candidates must possess at least 4000 hours of locksmith experience, a Journeyperson’s Certificate in Carpentry, and a willingness to obtain Locksmith Certification within two years, ensuring full compliance with city regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain various types of locks and hardware

• Design master key systems and maintain records

• Operate key cutting machines for precise locksmithing

• Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors for project completion

• Supervise and train other tradespeople as necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum 4000 hours of locksmith experience

• Completion of a Journeyperson’s Certificate in Carpentry

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Knowledge of electronic locking systems is an asset

• Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license required
