The vehicle mechanic will oversee maintenance operations under the fleet maintenance officer’s supervision. Key responsibilities include inspecting postal vehicles, conducting repairs, and certifying road worthiness. The mechanic must support daily security measures for assets and ensure compliance with Canada Post and government specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect vehicles and ensure documentation is completed timely
• Perform minor and major repairs on postal fleet vehicles
• Maintain tools and shop equipment to safe standards
• Provide quality control inspections for repaired vehicles
• Certify repaired vehicles as road worthy for operations
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Provincial Motor Vehicle Mechanic’s license
• Technical training in vehicle mechanics
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments
• Thorough knowledge of diagnostic techniques and regulations
