Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to join the expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This full‑time, remote position at the McIlvenna Bay site in Northern Saskatchewan offers either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will execute mechanical maintenance activities, ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment, and maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
We operate a full fleet of Sandvik battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and are committed to sustainable development and environmental protection.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
Job Qualifications and Skills
Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman or Red Seal certification.
Automotive Mechanic Journeyman may be considered.
2+ years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a mining or heavy‑industry setting preferred.
In‑depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive hourly rate: $61.68–$66.82 /hr (base salary including monthly bonus based on targets).
